Ubicación
Puerto Vallarta es un destino turístico por excelencia localizado en la Bahía de Banderas, sobre la costa del Pacifico mexicano en el estado de Jalisco, reconocido por preservar las autenticas tradiciones mexicanas. Ofrece 42 kilómetros de costa con hermosas playas y una diversa topografía que incluye jungla tropical, ríos y montañas. Cada región brinda un encanto único a Puerto Vallarta. Se encuentra a una distancia de 876 Kilómetros al oeste de la Ciudad de México y a sólo 250 kilómetros de Guadalajara, la capital del estado.
Clima
Puerto Vallarta se encuentra asentado en la misma latitud de las Islas de Hawai y goza de un clima tropical calido a lo largo de todo el año para el deleite de sus habitantes y turistas. La temperatura alcanza los 32 °C (90 °F) durante el verano y en el invierno las temperaturas son por debajo de los 27 °C(80° F). Por la noche tiende a refrescar con temperaturas entre los 16 °C (60 °F) a los 21 °C (70 °F).
La temporada de lluvias, en los meses de Junio a Septiembre, permite realizar diversas actividades durante el día, ya que éstas generalmente se perciben en la tarde y noche.
Población
Puerto Vallarta cuenta con una población de poco más de 220 mil habitantes de acuerdo al último censo realizado en 2005, de los cuales 6,500 son inmigrantes que han elegido a Puerto Vallarta como el lugar ideal para vivir. Actualmente Puerto Vallarta recibe a más de 3.7 millones de turistas al año.

Puerto Vallarta is a tourist destination located on Banderas Bay, on the coast of the Mexican Pacific, in the state of Jalisco and it´s recognized for preserving the authentic Mexican traditions. It offers 42 kilometers of coast with beautiful beaches and a very diverse land that includes tropical jungles, rivers and mountains. Each region brings a unique charm to Puerto Vallarta. It is located at a distance of 876 kilometers west of Mexico City and only 250 kilometers of Guadalajara, the capital of the state.
Climate
Puerto Vallarta is at the same latitude as the Jawaiian Islands and has a warm, tropical cliate through out the year for the delight of it´s habitants and touist. The temperature reaches 90 °F (32 °C) during the summer months and winter below 80° F (27 °C). During the night it tends to cool with in 60 °F (16 °C) and 70 °F (21 °C). The rainy season in the months of June through September allows diverse activity during the day but generally it tends to rain only in the afternoons, evenings or night.
Population
Puerto Vallarta has a popuation over 220 thousand habitants according to the last census concluded in 2005. Approximate 6,500 thousand are immigrants that have chosen to make Puerto Vallarta the ideal place to live. Puerto Vallarta receives ore than 3.7 million tourists every year.

The most important economic activity is the tourism, followed by commerce and agriculture.
